Bridge Transition Program

The Bridge Transition program allows 18 to 22-year-old students with disabilities an extra opportunity to develop life and job skills and gain confidence.

Transition helps teach students important skills and explore various post-secondary education and job opportunities. It also gives students a variety of experiences in the community through jobs and service projects to discover what interests they have and determine what they might like to do in the future.

The transition process for students and the Transition IEP can look different for each student based on the student’s individual educational needs, student preferences and IEP goals.

Simulated Work Environments (PAES Labs)

PAES (Practical Assessment Exploration System) is a curriculum that operates in a simulated work environment. Students become employees and teachers become supervisors! Strict work procedures are followed so students get the feel of real work and at the same time learn and explore new career and vocational areas. A comprehensive report is developed once a student has finished PAES. This report can be used to develop IEPs, Transition Plans, School-To-Work Plans, and Career Development Plans.

Skills USA

SkillsUSA is an applied method of preparing Minnesota’s high performance workers in career and technical education programs. It provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communication skills. It emphasizes total quality at work, high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education, and pride in the dignity of work.
