New transportation vendor taking over this summer

On April 28 our school board approved a transportation contract with a new vendor, Schmitty & Sons Transportation. The contract takes effect July 1, 2022 and the new vendor will provide busing to district students starting this summer for special programming and for all routes in the fall. Schmitty & Sons has a tremendous reputation for providing safe and reliable transportation and outstanding customer service. They are committed to hiring existing drivers from our community and bringing on even more drivers to be a part of their employee-owned company. We are very excited to bring them on board and are confident families will see significant improvements to bus service for the coming year.

Expect more delays as we wrap up this year
Unfortunately, we’ve been notified by the current vendor that they’re down a few drivers. Because of this, some routes may be canceled and others may be combined in order to transport as many students as possible. We are working with the vendor to notify impacted families of canceled or delayed routes as soon as possible to provide time for them to secure alternative transportation. We encourage you to follow us on Twitter @SchoolBus834 for the most up-to-date busing information.
